We follow the same transparent process for every engagement. No surprises, no ambiguity. From the first conversation to the final review, you always know where you stand and what comes next.
We take time to understand before we advise. We ask the difficult questions first, gather the relevant facts, and resist the pressure to give a quick answer when the situation requires careful thought.
We are not afraid to say what needs to be done, even when it is uncomfortable. We help you make the decision that is right for the long term, not just the one that feels easiest right now.
We will never present misleading information or obscure the risks. If something is not right for you, we will say so — even if it means not working together at this stage.
We begin with a free, fully confidential conversation to understand your situation, your goals and what you are trying to achieve. There is no commitment required and no fee for the first conversation. We will ask questions and listen carefully before offering any opinion.
Typical duration: 45–90 minutes · No fee · Fully confidential
If the first conversation suggests there is a genuine fit, we conduct a structured assessment of your situation. For founders, this means reviewing your business model, financial position and readiness for what you want to do next. For investors, it means evaluating whether our current opportunities genuinely match your mandate.
Typical duration: 1–2 weeks · May involve a fixed assessment fee · Written findings provided
Based on the assessment, we agree a specific scope of work in writing before anything starts. This document states clearly: what we will do, what you will provide, the timeline, the milestones, the fee structure and how success will be measured. You review and agree to this before any work begins.
Output: Written scope document · Agreed before work begins · No ambiguity about what is included
We carry out the agreed work with regular updates and clear communication throughout. If circumstances change or we encounter information that affects our advice, we will tell you immediately — not at the end of the engagement. You have direct access to us, not a junior team member or an account manager.
Regular check-ins · Direct access · Immediate notification of material changes
At the end of each engagement, we conduct a structured review of what was achieved against what was planned. We share this with you in writing. Where outcomes fell short of expectations, we explain why — clearly and honestly. Some engagements lead to ongoing advisory relationships; others are complete at this stage. Either way, you leave with a clear picture of where you stand.
Written review document · Outcomes measured against plan · Clear next steps or clean close
A single agreed fee for a defined scope of work. No surprises. The fee is stated in the scope document before work begins.
A monthly retainer for continuing strategic advice. Scope and volume of access agreed upfront and reviewed quarterly.
A percentage fee contingent on a defined outcome — typically a completed fundraise or transaction. Agreed terms, disclosed upfront.
A smaller base retainer combined with a success component. Aligns our interests with yours without placing all risk on one side.
All fees are agreed in writing before work begins. We do not charge for the first discovery conversation. We do not invoice for work outside the agreed scope without your prior consent.
We sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before any substantive discussion of your business, plans or financial information. This is standard practice for every engagement, not something you need to ask for.
We never share client information with third parties without explicit written consent, and we never use one client's information to benefit another.
If we have a relationship with another party that could create a conflict of interest, we will disclose it in writing before proceeding. You decide whether to continue with that knowledge.
We will not represent both sides of the same transaction without written consent from both parties.
Tell us what you are working on and what you need. We will give you an honest assessment of whether we can help — and if not, we will tell you that too.
